security?”

paid a bellboy who likes crisp Ben Franklin’s. It appears everyone has heard
about the win.”
She
gasped. “You paid for our room number?”
“How
else could I say I’m sorry.”
“Are
you feeling sorry for grabbing my machine just as soon as I got up to go to the
restroom?”
His
grin remained, and as deadly as ever. “No. Sorry that I didn’t bother getting
your name.” He held out a hand. She noticed how large it was. His fingers were
wide and he had surprisingly nice, cleans nails. “I’m Jax—”
